RRMS is pleased to announce that the CSA Z767-17 standard on Process Safety Management (PSM) was published on February 20, 2017 by the CSA Group.
The purpose of this Standard is to identify the performance requirements for organizations that plan to implement, or have implemented, a PSM system.
PSM is the application of management principles and systems for the identification, understanding, avoidance, and control of process hazards to prevent, mitigate, prepare for, respond to, and recover from process-related incidents. The Standard was prepared by the Technical Committee on Standards for PSM, which has representation from different Canadian industrial sectors, regulators, academics and government. Its development was made possible, in part, by the Process Safety Management Division (PSMD), held under the Canadian Society of Chemical Engineers (CSChE).
About the CSA Group
The CSA Group is the largest standards development organization (SDO) in Canada, with the widest subject area recognition. They work with other SDOs around the world as a key contributor to international and harmonized standards activities. Their standards are developed through a consensus process approved by the Standards Council of Canada.
